How is everyone doing?
I know that recent events have been bad, but I have neither conclusions or future ideas that will do more than merely add to the pile. I do think that we will soon have to accept more security, more surveillance cameras, and mandated safety courses in our life. It will be for the better-- we cannot be sitting ducks and uninformed. Safety should always be first-- when you buy a car, when you drive that car, when you do anything. Natural human longevity is short enough.
The Bath Jubilee ended and although it was a good time, other events were in place to take the reigns.
Here are a few upcoming shows that I am part of that cover the next few months.
Victorious the Musical @ East Auburn Baptist Church

It happens at the end of the month (April). Small ensemble and choir performing a song cycle.

We bring the club sound to Skips for a night of dancing!
UnCharted @ Club 302 May 17th and 25th

The two gigs may happen or we may do one or the other. Either way, we hope to have a surprise at these concerts!
June and July are still on the table. There is talk that we will be playing the Redneck "Blank" again this year in June, a place called Chaps at the end of June, and the July 4th festival in Lewiston. I am trying to improve our sound and necessary steps are being taken to make the show look better. The process is moving!
I played a country music battle of the bands this weekend with the Tina Kelley band at the Silver Spur in Mechanic Falls.

It went well and there is talk that maybe we came out near the top. This may be another band I find myself in. I always liked the boots and hats of the country music stars-- I think I can pull it off!
Last but not least, I did a little Spring cleaning at The Music Center. My room was in need of a change. I wanted to setup a station for recording and possibly remote learning (Skype). I am somewhat there-- you can judge by the before and after pics.
These above are the before-- small stands for laptop, printer and speakers.
I made a few changes: Built a table to go over the keyboard. Added a rackmount for my recording equipment. Took down a few outdated posters to keep the walls looking clean. Added the cork board to a spot where everyone can see it. I even added a coat rack to give a "home" feel to the lesson side of the store. This can only improve things-- because if we feel comfortable where we work, then we tend to work better!
I hope to make more improvements this week and I will be sure to post the changes.
I hope we can all reflect upon this hectic week, the horrible tragedies (things also happened overseas), and find solace in changing things in our life to reflect inner order.
Take care!
